The Super Scooper Win’s Episode on The New Inventors!

The Super Scooper is a result of frustration with messy horse paddocks. At the time when Mark built the first unit his daughter was getting well behind in the endless manure collection that is a part of owning horses in smaller paddocks and yards. In frustration, Mark decided to clean it up himself and one Saturday spent 5 or 6 hours with a shovel and wheelbarrow. The whole time he was doing it he couldn’t stop thinking that there had to be a better way. The next morning Mark’s back and knees had totally seized up. During the following week Mark lay awake for several nights working out a simple design for a scoop that he could tow behind his ride on mower. The next weekend, version one of the Super Scooper was made – and after a bit of modification, it worked. The first prototype didn’t have wheels (that came later) but the collection of manure was so fast, that there was no comparison with the normal hand method. Initially, it was not designed to be a commercial product, but Mark’s friends and associates who had horses encouraged him to look at making a serious prototype for manufacture. Mark made version two (with the wheels) and demonstrated it to some other horse owners and the feedback was very positive.... that led to a more commercially suitable version 3, which is the unit that appeared on The New Inventors. |
